The collection includes personal papers, photographs and memorabilia of Catherine Drake, but isprimarily of interest within the university collections because of the relevance to her period ofstudy at University College, when its creator, as Catherine Rooston, undertook teacher training atthe Day Training College. Whether she continued to a career in teaching is not recorded. Theprincipal sections in the archive are:
- Scrapbook album containing poems, messages, drawings and printed and photographic images,compiled mainly during Catherine Drake's period of study at Nottingham Day Training College andcontributed to by more than thirty people. 1898-1914 (MS 349/1);
- Personal papers of Catherine Drake comprising her Birth certificate, marriage gift card, marriagecertificate, copy of will, and a list of certificates issued by Nottingham Day Training College in1902. 1880-1967 (MS 349/2/1-4);
- Photographs including a wedding photograph of William and Catherine Drake (1917), a Roostonfamily portrait outside their home in West Bridgeford (c. 1902), University College Nottinghamfootball and cricket teams (1923-1925), and a concert party (1924) c.1900-c.1910 (MS 349/3/1-8).
