Scope and Content

(in pen and ink) by Lambert Gapper presented to Ivor E. Davies in 1932.

Lambert Gapper (1897-1984) was a noted sculptor who was well known in Wales and carried out many publi commissions. He won many prizes at the National Eisteddfod and designed the Gold Medal for Art. He served in the Army during WWI and was decorated twice. Ivor E. Davies and the Gapper family were close friends. Lambert's brother was manager of the granite quarry in Trefor and lived in the house at the bottom of the quarry incline.
