Administrative / Biographical History

Lewis Edmunds was born in Aberystruth, Monmouthshire, in 1814. Like his father he became a tiler and plasterer. Until 1873 he lived in Llanover, Monmouthshire, before moving to Llanelen. He was constable for Llanover in 1843. He travelled widely around the Monmouthshire valleys in connection with his work, buying materials in towns such as Abergavenny and Pontypool.
