Prints of Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset watermills and negatives of UK windmills, watermills and other subjects of industrial archaeology. A biography of Jim Chase is also included.

Where high resolution digital images of original documents have been made, readers may examine these at the Archive to avoid disturbing the originals.

Custodial History

Passed to Dennis Johnson of the Berkshire Industrial Archaeology Group by the daughter of Jim Chase. Given by him to the Mills Archive in 2006.

Dennis Johnson sorted Jim's photographs into two main groups, the mill photographs here and photographs of engines and pumps, which were donated to the English Heritage Archives (Ref. No. JWC01).
