LETTER: Thomas Ellis, Holyhead to Hugh Owen, at Mr Lewis's in Dowry Square near the Hot Wells in Bristol. Discusses what is being done in Holyhead with regard to the House of Corrections and gives news about some Holyhead people. Informs him that Dick Davies of Llanfawr is out of Jail at last. Mrs Owen is brave and Jolly and little Miss is as pretty a young lday as anyone would hope to have. The christening was a very jolly on e - plenty of good company and good cheer, and they drank until they could drink no more. Four Dutch vessels were at anchor at the bay at the time and the ladies visited and were handsomely dressed. The Captain provided fine liquours. [1742 Sep. 6].
