Administrative / Biographical History
The Conservative and Unionist Party is organised locally into separate Associations of local branches, with Executive Committees based on parliamentary constituencies. Pembrokeshire Conservative and Union Association campaigned in the Pembrokeshire parliamentary constituency. The Pembrokeshire seat was created in 1918 from Pembrokeshire and Pembroke & Haverfordwest. In 1995, the Pembrokeshire constituency was split between the new Pembroke Preseli and Carmarthen West & Pembrokeshire South seats. Between 1970 and 1992 the seat was held by the Conservatives.
Arranged into the following: minutes; register of officers; and press cuttings.
With the exception of the press cuttings the records are not to be produced for public inspection without the prior written permission of an officer of the Association. The records were previously closed for a period of 25 years.
Deposited by the Agent, Mrs Val Sanders, Haverfordwest, 1984.
