Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Henry Fothergill (1836-1914) was the third son of Richard Fothergill (1789-1851) of Lowbridge, Westmorland. Henry Fothergill worked with his brothers at Abernant, as an iron works owner and manager. In 1864 Henry was bought out by his brothers. He married in 1877 and soon afterwards settled at Copt Hall, Hawkshurst, Kent. He died in 1914.
