Records of Stoddard International plc, Design Archive, Tartan / Plaid

Scope and Content

Design patterns, primarily for 'Clan' tartans, but also for military plaids, such as Blackwatch, and a number of contract designs for Robbins Bros. of New York. There are many duplicates, patterns that might have been redone at a later date, or for carpets with a different pitch/shot ratio. Where more than one design number is given one is usually for export and the other for home markets.

This description is part of the  Design Archive  which is divided into the 142 sections, each with its own separate description.
