Scope and Content

Legal documents and correspondence, mostly relating to the sale and mortgage of a plot of land on Hillside Road, Colwyn Bay, which Edward Foulkes bought from the Pwllycrochon Estate in 1897, and built 5 houses on. The later documents contain details of Edward Foulkes' insolvency, including lists of his assets and liabilities. Edward Foulkes was the father of Sidney Colwyn Foulkes.

Custodial History

These documents were deposited at Denbighshire Record Office on 7th August 2014 by Stuart C. Bowley, 7 Hammer Drive, St Austell, Cornwall PL25 3FL. Mr Bowley had bought the documents at a second-hand bookshop in Colwyn Bay some years previously. They were transferred from Denbighshire RO to Conwy Archives on 20th March 2015.
