After the sale of the Hunts. properties, the Annesleys retained this advowson. In 1873, the parish of Sawtrey St. Andrew was united with that of Sawtrey All Saints, whose advowson was held by the Duke of Devonshire. After the union, the two patrons agreed to make alternate presentations. It is not clear for how long this arrangement lasted after 1943, when our evidence comes to an end.
See 17D for documents concerning the sale of glebe land from this parish, as well as E6/1/33L/18.
