VARIOUS MALE DESCENDANTS OF JOHN ANNESLEY (I)

Scope and Content

These papers are a miscellaneous

collection of papers concerning

descendants of John (I) of Ballysax.

After the death of George, 2nd Earl

Mountnorris, in 1844, it was crucial for

Arthur Annesley (XI) as heir to prove

that no male descendants of John (I)

survived. These papers probably came

into the family at around this time;

they were certainly used in the 1950s,

when the 14th Viscount Valentia proved

beyond doubt that the male line of this

branch was extinct.

All the deeds came in envelopes marked

Exhibit 28.
