EXAMINATION AND DEPOSITION: John Thomas of Erw bont. parish Llanbedrgoch, farmer, Edward Owen of the Lock Up house, Menai Bridge, police officer, and Susannah Thomas of Erw bont, in the case v. Alexander Gough, for breaking and entering and stealing a shirt, the property of J.T. Deponent J.T. states his daughter woke him late at night suspecting thief in the house. On inspecting with his lodger it was discovered a window had been broken and various items including a youth's shirt were missing. On stopping the accused on the Bangor side of the Menai Bridge deponent E.O. found the shirt in his bag.

Attached: Statement of Accused: 'All I have got to say is that, I was walking along the road on Monday morning with a young man, and we met with a man on the road and he forced us to go into a Public house to get beer, and then forced us till we got intoxiacated in liquor and when we came back he forced to go to this place and it was against my heart to do it.'
