Scope and Content

Green and cream military jacket worn by Peter Curtis in 'Jardin Aux Lilas' The jacket is velvet type fabric and is fastened with hook and eyes down the centre front. The jacket has a stand collar which has two stripes of cream trimming for decoration. This decoration continues in the jacket on the cuffs and waistband. The cuffs are also decorated with a vertical strip of fabric. This fabric is also used for a loose sash which passes over the top of the body. Across the front of the body there are four ropes. Two are single ropes and two are plaited. The ropes are attached to the jacket with hook and eye. Attached to the end of the ropes are two long metal spikes. Three ropes are also twisted on each shoulder for decoration. There is the label 'Han 12' packed in the box.
