The Marine Drive Company was founded in 1812. The Company was purchased by the town in 1897 for £10,500 and the pedestrian toll was abolished in 1930. This Tollgate retains evidence of its fortification in 1940. [13th year local 5th Caernarfonshire Battalion of Home Guards].
