Bishop's Palace, West Shore, Llandudno.

Scope and Content

The Bishop's Palace on the West Shore commands magnificent views around the West Shore and across to Conwy. The first reference to the Palace is in 1279 when grants were given to Bishop Anian the First (1267-1305) by Edward the First. In 1894 the site was sold by the Church and a large private house was built on the higher ground to the North which was later enlarged to serve as a Hotel. The Hotel subsequently became owned by the Railway Convalescent Homes.
