Discusses his plans for the forthcoming summer, hoping to spend it in College working. Has been visited by Fellows of St John's College who have finished work whilst he still remains at his post. Has examined candidates for holy orders and notes the ease with which one candidate was passed. Discusses the Archbishop's sons. Notes that he will not be involved in the coronation. Has been involved in examining boys at Dulwich College on various subjects and provides an anecdote. Gives an account of family members and also notes a letter sent by a friend who has fallen on hard times asking for help with finding a curacy for her son, though states that 'she might as well have asked me to make him Pope. The lad was never at the University and talks broad Cumberland'
