Administrative / Biographical History

The Training Colleges Sub-Committee was convened by Bedfordshire County Council Education Committee. It met three or four times a year to receive reports from the County Director of Education (later the Chief Education Officer) on the Bedford College of Physical Education and the Training College, Bedford, and reports from the Principals of the two colleges. The committee reported and made recommendations for action to the Further Education Sub-Committee.
For a time, and certainly up to June 1954, the College makes reference to the Committee of Management in the Principal's Report, but this is understood to refer to the Training Colleges Sub-Committee.
