Correspondence with the Ministry of Education and Bedfordshire County Council Education Committee concerning the development of the Bedford College of Physical Education site (incorporating new building works and adaptations to existing buildings) to accommodate the approved expansion of student numbers from 170 to 240. The development was scheduled in three phases: Phase I – building of swimming pool and new gymnasia (subsequently named Read and Stansfeld); Phase II – building of new laboratories, tutorial and lecture rooms, and a common room; Phase III – refurbishment and/or function reassignment of properties in Lansdowne Road, and building of a Drama Hall and Music Room on the site of the 'old gymnasium'. Includes drawings of proposed extensions to library bookcases, copy of report by the Ministry of Education on the future development of the College, notes of meetings, a site plan of the new gymnasia and swimming pool showing paving and related correspondence, and a floor plan of the new Drama Hall and related correspondence.
