A Scientific Advisory Committee was appointed in December 1943 and met for the first time in January 1944. Part of its function was to receive from the Sub-Committees for Maternity and Child Welfare, Education and Recreation, The Services, and Industry, problems of a scientific nature and give advice on practical steps the Sub-Committees might take to assist in their solution.
