Cambridge Certificate Course Committee

Administrative / Biographical History

Cambridge Certificate Course Committees were established at the Lansdowne and Polhill campuses to oversee the final two years of the 3-year Cambridge Certificate in Education. The Certificate in Education was withdrawn for new entrants in 1976 and replaced entirely by the B.Ed. Students admitted in the academic year 1975-76 were the last to follow the Cambridge Certificate Course and to proceed to the University of Cambridge for the 4th-year Honours B.Ed.

The terms of reference for the Cambridge Certificate Course Committees were to plan, develop and oversee the Cambridge Certificate Course, including arrangements for the examination of students.

The Lansdowne Cambridge Certificate Course Committee held its first meeting on 29 September 1976 and its final meeting on 29 November 1978.
