The purpose of the Academic Council was to provide a forum where all members of the academic staff, the librarian, and the bursar could discuss College matters. The Principal was the Chairman and the Council met two or three times each term.
The Academic Council met for the first time on 28 November 1967 and held its final meeting on 1 July 1976.
