Scope and Content

Two papers from the Committee on the Training of Teachers:

Paper No. 14 'Notes for the consideration of those whom the Committee wish to consult' which presents some matters upon which the Committee wish to consult witnesses, these include the supply of teachers, the organisation and length of training courses, and the relationship between universities and training colleges;

Paper No. 23 'Memorandum of oral evidence given on 11 August 1942 by representatives of the Association of Principals of Colleges of Physical Education'.

Also includes a paper titled 'The Training of Teachers of Physical Education' which sets out the existing organisation of the training of teachers of physical education and was possibly prepared for submission to the Committee on the Training of Teachers, and a paper from the Association of Principals of Colleges of Physical Education which suggests ways in which the training of teachers of physical education could be improved with particular regard to improving the status of physical education teachers as a means of increasing the numbers of trainees.
