Health and Social Consequences of the 2001 Foot and Mouth Epidemic in North Cumbria

Scope and Content

Diaries and interviews from a study carried out by the Institute of Health Research, Lancaster University between 2001 and 2004.
The diaries were written over a period of 18 months by a diverse panel of 54 rural residents in Cumbria who experienced the crisis in different ways. Their contributions describe how their lives were affected and also the process of recovery they observed taking place in their communities.
