The volume contains several hundred skillfully emblazoned coats of arms of Cheshire families. On folio 45 is the heading Arms of Cheshire Families not included in foregoing List from the Collection of John Watson, M.A., F.S.A., Rector of Stockport, 1781. The Original is in the Adlington Library. Another heading (on folio 63) is Arms from Leigh's Lancashire. At the front of the volume (on folio 1) is an Index to the Arms. On the flyleaf is written Alderley.
