Papers accumulated by Bet Davies, 1985-2012, in her work with the WDA, Japan 2001 festival, a celebration of Japan in Wales, and at The Wales Millennium Centre.

Administrative / Biographical History

Bet Davies is a former director of communications at The Welsh Development Agency (WDA). She was born in Manchester and raised in Dyffryn Nantlle from the age of four and attended the University of Wales in Aberystwyth where she completed an MA on the patrons of the bards in Llŷn and Eifionydd. She spent twenty years working with The Wales Tourist Board as an editor and head of Public Relations and as head of Corporate Affairs of The Wales Millennium Centre. In 2003 she was honoured by the Japanese Government for her role in promoting cultural and economic ties between Wales and Japan. Bet Davies delivered a lecture entitled Pobl ddŵad Dyffryn Nantlle [Incomers to Dyffryn Nantlle] in 2006 in the series of Penygroes Library lectures which was published in the same year.
