Administrative / Biographical History

The Postal Inspectors' Association was established in 1895 and primarily represented members of the inspectorate and head postmen in outer London and the provinces. In July 1959 it amalgamated with the Association of Post Office Controlling Officers.

Arrangement

All those unions which have now merged to form the Communication Managers' Association have been given the reference MSS.225. They are further divided into collections by an alphabetical suffix.

Acquisition Information

The first deposit was made by the Communication Managers' Association on 4 March 1981. Subsequent deposits were made in 1981 and 1982.
