To be buried within the choir door (of Burton Agnes) by the body of his uncle, late vicar there. o200 to purchase lands to maintain a free school in Burton Agnes. Exors. to join with kinsman Michael Green in making the purchase. Schoolmaster to take no more than 8d. a quarter from every stranger taught by him, and an entering penny from each child. Vicar and Churchwardens, with 4 "antients" of the parish appointed by them (one from each town in the parish), to elect the schoolmaster and his successors, who shall have £8 yearly stipend. Half of rest of profits to poor of Burton Agnes: other half to upkeep of church, the churchwardens having 6s. yearly for their pains.
