Administrative / Biographical History
Thomas Alan Swinden (1915-2004), commonly known as Alan, worked for Rolls-Royce, 1937-1955. He was a council member of the British Employers' Federation, 1955-1965, Director of the Engineering Employers' Federation, 1964-1965, Deputy Director General of the Confederation of British Industry, 1970-1978 and the Director of Kingston Regional Management Centre.
