Scope and Content

Certifying that by her last will (Doc 1719), Mary Skeels bequeathed a tenement in Hive End with adjoining lands in Burnsfield, manor of Chatteris Ramsey, to Martha Palmer, widow, for life, the property then descending to George Palmer, Martha's son (Doc 1719). Since both Mary Skeels and Martha Palmer (who later married Charles Pitts deceased) are dead, George Palmer is admitted to the tenancy on payment of #80 fine, a guinea heriot, and at annual rent of 1s 11d. Copy of court roll, examined by William Dunn esq, steward and one of the lords of the manor, Thomas Carill Worsley esq being the other, duty stamp, the rent and fines appear in the LH margin.
