Administrative / Biographical History

Nancy Mitchell (full name Agnes Mitchell), born on the 17th of April 1930 (Edinburgh?). On the 15th of September 1952 she was enrolled as one of the first students in newly established College of Dramatic Art, a part of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music. Her hard work and overall improvements resulted in receiving the J. Arnold Fleming Travelling Scholarship after the 3rd term in 1953. In 1955 she was awarded DDA (Diploma in Dramatic Art) and the James Bridie silver medal and prize.

She was a jobbing actress in Scottish theatres and in advertisements, such as one of the Mother's Pride bakery products in the 1990s.

Nancy Mitchell died in 2016.
