Topics of correspondence include comments on the state of the French government in letters by General William Monteith (Mss Eur F88/160/17 and Mss Eur F88/160/22) and the crisis within the British government and the attempts to resolve it in letters by Lord Elphinstone (Mss Eur F88/160/27-29, Mss Eur F88/160/32-33 and Mss Eur F88/160/41-43).
