Scope and Content

Materials compiled by Rosalind Lowe during the writing of her biography on Samuel Meyrick. Includes research files titled Armour notes; Catalogues (various); Goodrich Court; Material by date; Meyrick Letters 1800-1829; Meyrick Letters 1830-1848; Meyrick works; Miscellaneous. Also contains two boxes containing photocopies of ‘The Gentleman’s Magazine’, Rosalind Lowe correspondence concerning the Meyrick biography publication and the archive, and a list of the archive compiled by Rosalind Lowe.

Administrative / Biographical History

Rosalind Lowe grew up in Breconshire. She worked in the computer and oil industries before starting to write on archaeology and the history of Herefordshire. She developed an interest in Sir Samuel Meyrick when she moved to a house once owned by him in Goodrich, Herefordshire. Her biography of Meyrick ‘Sir Samuel Meyrick & Goodrich Court’ was published in 2003.
