Derek is an English millwright who worked on British mills until the 1970s when he emigrated to the USA, continuing his work on the other side of the Atlantic and passing on his skills to several apprentices.

Custodial History

Derek passed the material to the Mills Archive in 2002 and 2006. It is arranged by mill project, with large drawings stored separately. Further material including files and drawings relating to USA mills were donated in 2015. Files relating to fairground carousels were send to the National Fairground and Circus Archive, Sheffield.
