An account of the parliamentary election for Yorkshire May to June 1807.Includes election addresses, speeches, rejected votes lists, subscriptionsand an index. Appears to have been owned by Mr. Duncombe, chairman of theCommittee for the General Purposes of Mr. Wilberforce's election.

Administrative / Biographical History

The parliamentary election for Yorkshire was held from May to June 1807. Itwas contested by the philanthropist William Wilberforce (1759-1833), HenryLascelles 2nd Earl of Harewood (1767-1841) and Charles William Fitzwilliam,Viscount Milton and later 5th Earl Fitzwilliam (1786-1857). Wilberforce wonthe election, and was MP for Yorkshire until 1812. He had previously been MPfor Yorkshire in 1784, 1790, 1796, 1802 and 1806.
