Scope and Content

Life drawings created by Judith Kerr during and after her time at the Central School of Arts and Crafts. The file includes eight sheets of figure drawings in pencil and pen; one pencil landscape; one watercolour entitled 'Spiritualists'; two sheets of pen drawings entitled 'Ghosts'; and three large city scenes [oversize], one in chalk and charcoal entitled 'Shelterers', one in charcoal on layout paper and one, a composition deriving from the other two, in coloured gouache. The file also contains a cover for 'Lady Clare' magazine 1947, number 4 with illustrations by Judith Kerr [Kerr's brother attended Clare College, the Cambridge College which produced 'Lady Clare' magazine].
