Owen Holland of Conwy Papers

Scope and Content

Maps of estates in the parishes of Llandanwg, Llanenddwyn and Llanaber, co. Merioneth and in the parishes of Conwy, Gyffin, Dwygyfylchi, Llangelynnin and Caerhun, north Wales in 1760 and 1776, the work of I. Royle and A. Bowdler. The survey of the town of Conwy is particularly interesting since it includes the names of tenants.

Letters, notices, receipts etc. relating to financial matters and various transactions, 1793-1796.

Administrative / Biographical History

Owen Holland of Plas Isa, Conwy, 1720-1795, acquired lands in Merioneth from his grandfather, Holland Williams who married Jane, daughter of Edward Edwards of Llwyndu near Llanaber. He also owned lands in the parishes of Conwy, Gyffin, Dwygyfylchi, Llangelynnin and Caerhun, north Wales.
