Willingdon Meadows Estate Co Ltd was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1933  with its registered office on Pall Mall, London, England, and with a share capital of £500. The company was established to acquire a mortgage to acquire land in Willingdon, East Sussex, England , which could then be sold and developed. In 1933, the company acquired a mortgage of £18,315. The first directors of the company were William Hepburn McAlpine, Sir Malcolm McAlpine and Samuel McGavin. William and Malcolm were directors in Sir Robert McAlpine & Sons , civil engineering contractors, London, and Samuel was secretary to that company. Willingdon Meadows Estate Co Ltd appears to have been inexistance until at least 1942  .
