These photographic negatives were taken by Jan Wood, assistant archivist of Doncaster Archives, as part of an educational package for schools prepared during 1999 and 2000, and titled 'Doncaster past and present: a town trail'. The package was the result of a heritage education for schools undertaken by the Cultural Regeneration Partnership committee, comprising representatives from Doncaster Curriculum Partnership, Doncaster Archives and the Local Studies Library, and involving teachers from local primary schools on temporary placement.
