Scope and Content

The records include a combined ledger and minute book, 1800- 96; a memorandum book compiled by Jacob Jacobs in 1851 of the history of the Canterbury Hebrew community; a record book of the births, deaths, marriages and cemetery of the Jews of Canterbury, Dover, Deal and Ramsgate, 1831-70; a list of congregational accounts of the Canterbury Hebrew Congregation, 1 Sep 1847, with names and addresses of members; offerings book for festivals of the Cheltenham Hebrew Congregation, c.1840; and copies of minutes of the Canterbury Hebrew Congregation, 1833-61.
