Scope and Content

Contemporary prints exhibition in newly refurbished premises. The press release stated Printmaking continually changes as new artists redefine aspects of print within the current climate and influences of contemporary arts practice. As a living and developing art form subject matter changes, mono prints become not just acceptable but desirable as originals in print, objects, and installations are made using a wide variety of experimental and traditional print media… this exhibition shows through a selection of work from artists of the Printmakers Council where printmaking is at the present moment, using the newest technology alongside centuries old technique . The selectors were Steve Mumberson, Marilyn Simler and Janet Curley Cannon. Works by Jean Lodge, Biagio Mastroianni, Liz Peer, Jin Farrell, Anna Alcock, Colin Gillespie, Sue Baker were selected for use in advance publicity. ‘ Paving Stone II’ by Janet Curley Cannon was on the private view card.
