Th extracts were made from British Library Add. MSS 5849, 5805, 5827, 5847, 5837 and 5813, being manuscripts of William Cole. Attached to fo. 52 is a slip on which are set out references in the Harleian manuscripts to Croyland Abbey, in the hand of Edward Ventris. At fo. 54 is a loose leaf on which are extracts from Ely visitation books dealing with Oakington, made by E. Ventris, with a pencilled note from Ventris to W.G. Searle, 22 November 1873. On fo. ii is an index of contents.

The papers include notes on the Carmelite Priory; a list of Presidents, 1448-1820; notes of seals and prints in the hand of C. [Collistree]; a list of Fellows, 1446-1826; notes from the Public Record Office State Papers Domestic; extracts from William Cole's MS Vols 2, 7, 8, 47 and 48; extracts from British Library Lansdowne MSS 980, 983 and 985; extracts from MS Baker, Vols 4 and 6, including a copy of a letter from Richard Sterne, Archbishop of York, to [ ] Sayer. On fos 135-136 are extracts from the Huntingdon Corporation Accounts, 1769-1835, in the hand of F. Gerald Vesey, with a letter from the same to [W.G. Searle], 29 May 1869. The remaining leaves and the versos almost throughout are blank.
