Scope and Content

The papers are divided into 6 sections: A. Biographical; B. Research; C. Cambridge, D. Lectures and publications; E. Societies and organisations; F. Correspondence. A significant part of the material relates to Dixon's scientific research; enzyme nomenclature work for the International Union of Biochemistry; and various editions of Enzymes, with E.C. Webb, 1958 (2nd ed. 1964; 3rd ed. 1979).

Malcolm Dixon (1899-1985), biochemist, Professor of Enzyme Biochemistry, Cambridge University, 1966; Chairman of the International Union of Biochemistry Commission on Enzymes, 1956-1961.

Conditions Governing Access

Most of the collection is open for consultation by holders of a Reader's Ticket valid for the Manuscripts Reading Room. Access to parts of Section B is at the discretion of the Keeper of Manuscripts. Parts of Section F are closed to readers.
