Unbound journal of an officer, possibly Captain (later Admiral) George Henderson, on the fire ship Jason under the command of Captain Nicholas Tomlinson. The first volume contains a journal of 13 July - 25 December 1809 (45pp), with MS maps in two sheets of the River Scheldt, marking engagements and positions of ships and troops. The second volume contains a log of the fire ship Jason of 20 July - 16 November 1809 (14pp), with brief daily entries (Captain Henderson embarked on 21 July 1809).

The Walcheren expedition was under the command of Admiral Sir Richard Strachan, with a mission to destroy French ships in the Scheldt, Flanders; to demolish local shipyards and arsenals; and to advance to Antwerp.
