Administrative / Biographical History
The Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales, today, is held annually on alternate years in various locations in north and south Wales. In 1939, the festival was held at Denbigh in north Wales.
John Davies, 1868-1940, competed in the Denbigh Eisteddfod. He was awarded half of the prize money by R.T. Jenkins for his essay on the subject of Emrys ap Iwan. For further biographical information consult Y Bywgraffiadur Cymreig Hyd 1940
