Records of Sekers Group Ltd, textile manufacturers, 1988-1994, Hensingham, England

Administrative / Biographical History

In 1988 as part of a programme to diversity operations,  Stoddard Holdings plc acquired Sekers, an English textile manufacturing company which specialised in the production of silks and curtain fabrics. Sekers Group Ltd became part of the larger Stoddard group which changed its name on the acquisition to  Stoddard Sekers International plc .

The purchase of Sekers was not, however, a success for the Stoddard group, and the silk production side of the business was sold off the following year. Sekers Group Ltd was dissolved in 1994.

In 2011, Sekers Fabrics Ltd continues to trade.
