DRAFT LETTER: W. P. Poole to the Secretary of State Whitehall concerning William Foulkes, Edward Davies and Thomas Williams who were sentenced to six months inprioned following the Amlwch riots. He says that others were involved in the incident but were apprehended too late to be tried at the same Quarter Session. These people appeared in court yesterday and were discharged as the prosecutors could not afford to bring the presentments and the J.P's were not inclined to make an order on the co. treasurer for the prosecution. During yesserday's court a petition has been handed in on behalf of their release from gaol. The J.P's were inclined to be merceiful but an order is required from the Secretary of State before they could be released.
