LETTER: H. Campbell, Waroonga G.M., Lawlers to John Owen in reply to his request for information on the death of John's brother Owen. His body was recovered and was interred in Lawlers cemetery. The accident occurred on 4 April 1907. Owen and another man died instantaneously. The funeral was very large and represented by all the community. Owen worked under the writer for 15 months, was married and his wife lived in Ballarat, Victoria and he had 4 children. He as about 9 years in W.A. He died intestate but his means were very small. No doubt his widow received compensation of £400 which is little enough to rar a family although the youngest is about 10. He sends his deepest sympathy to all the family.
