Letter: Lottie and Owen, Owen, Snake Valley, Victoria to mother and brother

Scope and Content

LETTER: Lottie and Owen, Owen, Snake Valley, Victoria to mother and brother. They feel that the family are going to think that they have been forgotten and they are assured that it is not the case. Lottie is always pleased when Owen mentions her unknown mother and brother. The blame rests with her for not writing sooner as Owen has given her the responsibility. She thanks them for the papers they sent and the book of views. She would like to visit Anglesey to see the fine bridges. There are none like them in Victoria. They wrote to America recently but have had no reply. They are enclosing photographs, one is meant for David. Their baby daughter is nearly 4 months old. They visited Aunt Jones and family in Ballarat 2 months ago. They have built a new house to be nearer the business. Owen is still working in the mines. He gets £2.10s. a week. She asks what wage do schoolmasters get 'at home'. Owen says that it's best for her to give all family news but they don't seem to receive much news of Anglesey.
