Letter: W. Williams, R.N.R. 1845 R.M.S. Carmania, at Gibraltar to Mr Owen

Scope and Content

LETTER: W. Williams, R.N.R. 1845 R.M.S. Carmania, at Gibraltar to Mr Owen. The new crew arrived from Liverpool and the expect to sail on Sunday. He has not received the parcel and hopes that the Germans have not got hold of his cake. He thanks the children for the parcel, it is not their fault that it has not arrived. He is not sure what to get for them, there are plenty of monkeys. It was the monkeys that showed the English where the Spaniards kept their ammunition in the caves so they are worth looking after for serving the British Army so well. He expects to be back on March 25.
