Pedigree of the Huntsman Family
Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The common ancestors used for this family reconstruction were William Huntsman of Epworth, Lincolnshire, and his wife Mary Nainby. From them E W Hulme has traced two lines of the family, living largely in the Doncaster region. In the nineteenth century, Francis Huntsman (1785-1879) and his wife, Fanny Hawksworth (1792-1868), lived at Attercliffe, Crookhill and Loversall Hall, all in the Doncaster area and had thirteen children. Their eldest four children predeceased them as young adults and their fifth child, Maria, married a surgeon. The eldest line of the family continued with their fifth child, Benjamin Huntsman (1820-1893) and his wife, Anna Maria Fitzmaurice (d.1897), and their four children of West Retford Hall.
